Photographs help me remember.
My long-term memory has never been especially reliable, and I’m not much of a written record keeper. Photographs bring back what words often cannot: the room, the gestures, the relationships, and the feeling of being there.
I don’t have many photographs from my own childhood or of the people who came before me. The few I have are among my most cherished possessions. Now my children value our family photographs, too. They return to them, ask questions, and discover pieces of their own history.
That is why preserving family life matters so deeply to me.
BEYOND FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHS
Photography is my first love.
I am a multi-passionate artist who has more dreams and ideas than time. In addition to photography, I am a ceramicist, writer, collage-maker and budding sewist. Each practice is led by curiosity, instinct, and observation. My ultimate goal is always to find meaning and inspiration in places we don’t often notice.
