SESSION INFORMATION

Which session is right for you?

I photograph the continuum of a family’s life, from birth, to tweens and teens,

to parenthood, and the latter years.

My wish is for every family to have honest, interactive photos of themselves

connecting with one other. I am especially passionate about getting caregivers

in the frame. So often, they are the ones taking the photos and may not be in

many of them, apart from a few selfies.

I am also keenly aware of how quickly time seems to pass. Photographs offer us a

portal back to a moment that only existed briefly. Sometimes memories fade,

but photos rarely do.

Families & Children

All family sessions are designed to be fun and relaxed and usually last about an hour and a half.  I allow children and families to be themselves, explore and play. I strive to capture love and connection in all its forms.  Whatever the occasion, I would be honored to create photographs for you and your family that will spark memories for years to come. Your home is the ideal location for these sessions because it's where your family is most comfortable, and even more than that, your home best reflects who you are as a family.  It's the perfect storytelling backdrop. Newborns at home

In-home newborn sessions are photographed in the comfort of your own home, with the intention of preserving the candid, beautiful moments as your family gets to know its newest member.

I photograph the rituals of these early days—feeding, changing, burping, soothing, cuddling, and everything in between—along with the small details you may not realize you’ll want to remember.

There is no expectation that your baby will sleep through the session or that your home will be perfectly put together. We follow your baby’s rhythm, making room for breaks, feedings, and whatever the day brings. Parents, siblings, grandparents, and pets can all be included. Your home and your life as they are right now are the story.

I also offer hospital newborn sessions, photographed within the first day or two after your baby is born. These sessions preserve those precious early moments together—holding and kissing your baby, feeding or nursing, and introducing the baby to siblings and other loved ones for the first time.

Maternity

Pregnancy is part of a family’s story, too. My maternity sessions are not centered on traditional posing. They take place in your home and capture a small piece of your life as you wait for your baby to arrive. A session might center on the connection between parents-to-be, the everyday life of your growing family, or the children who will soon become big brothers or sisters.

We may make a few intentional portraits, but the heart of the session is the story of this brief season before your family dynamic changes.

Generations Sessions

These in-home documentary sessions preserve time with the parents, grandparents, and older loved ones who have helped shape your family.

Rather than asking everyone to pose, I photograph you spending time together—cooking, gardening, looking through family photographs, sharing stories, laughing, or simply being together. A session can include several generations or center on one beloved family member. You do not need to wait for a milestone or special occasion.

My hope is to create a record not only of what your loved ones looked like, but of how it felt to be with them.

 Frequently Asked Questions

What does a session look like?

In a nutshell, it’s me spending time with your family with my camera. I follow the action rather than directing it, although I may occasionally guide you toward optimal light. The goal is to give you room to be yourselves while I preserve the interactions and details you want to remember.

Does my home need to be perfect?

Absolutely not. Your home is part of your family’s story. I may move an occasional distracting object or open the curtains for better light, but there is no need to hide the evidence of daily life. The furniture, toys, food, books, etc are exactly what make the photographs meaningful years from now.

Will you take any photographs of everyone looking at the camera?

Yes—if that is important to your family. We usually make a few photographs with everyone sitting or standing together and looking at the camera. The rest of the session is more observational and focuses on your family interacting naturally.

When should I book, and what happens next?

You do not need to wait for a holiday, birthday, or milestone. Ordinary days are worth preserving, too. I recommend contacting me a few weeks or months ahead whenever possible.

Send an inquiry to begin, and I’ll follow up to schedule a time to chat. Once you book, you’ll complete a questionnaire and we’ll have a planning call about how your family spends its time and what you most want to remember.

Where do sessions take place?

Most sessions take place in your home, but we can also photograph your family in another place that holds meaning for you. I prefer locations to which your family has a genuine connection. You will feel more comfortable there, and the place itself becomes part of the story—another important character.

What if my child is shy or has a difficult time?

Please don’t worry. Children do not need to perform for me. I follow their lead, make room for breaks, and welcome the full range of emotions that comes with real family life. Being in a familiar environment usually helps children feel comfortable, and whatever happens becomes part of the story.

Are sessions only for families with young children?

Not at all. Families continue to grow and change long after children are grown. Generational sessions can center parents, grandparents, adult siblings, older loved ones, or several generations together. The approach is the same: relaxed, interactive photographs that preserve your relationships as they are now.
